I love websites that offer lots of information and stuff – that makes them really valuable to me. So that’s what I have done with GetHiredRDH – I offer all dental hygiene job seekers a one-stop experience! If you would like to see me offer more, let me know. Here are some of the top resources:
FAQs: One of our most popular pages is the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page as it contains a comprehensive list of all the best tips, tools, techniques I have written about in dental hygiene job searching over the years. It’s broken up into categories for Interviews, Resumes, Strategies, Other Materials, and Working with GetHiredRDH.
ADHA Links: American Dental Hygienists’ Association and local component website links.
CDHA Links: Canadian Dental Hygienists Association and local chapter website links.
Dental Temporary Staffing: Links to RDH temporary staffing agencies in the United States and Canada. Let us know if we are missing YOUR local agency.
Dental Hygiene Salary Information for US and Canada: We keep and update salary data for each state and province in North America. In fact, if you sign up, we’ll even e-mail FREE updates to you once or twice a year as the data is available.
JobPostings: We run a free aggregate job board for dental hygienists. This is a site that simply pulls dental hygiene job listings from other sources all over the internet. You can sign up there to receive notifications of openings in your area.
Resume Action Words: This a comprehensive list of 500+ words you can use to begin statements on your resume to give them a little more punch.
Positive Personality Adjectives: Positive adjectives are very useful when describing how awesome you are as hygienist. This list of 100 will help you decide what best describes you.
Positive vs. Active Writing: It’s important that you write your resume and other materials in active voice as it’s more succinct, saves space on your resume, and is actually simpler and easier for employers to read. This page will help you see and understand the difference.
Dental Hygiene Schools: This page contains a current map and list of dental hygiene schools in the United States. Many of them offer continuing education and refresher courses if you have been un-licensed or out of work for a while.
Google Voice: GoogleVoice is a great free service to help keep your personal cell phone number private. Sign up for free and get an additional phone number that routes calls to your existing cell phone. Additionally, you get free WiFi calling and texting in the US, Canada, and Mexico (only available in the US).
LinkedIn: If you don’t have a LinkedIn Account – get one! They are free and will give you a digital footprint on the Internet. This communicates to employers that you are both tech-savy and current with the times. It also satisfies their need to find more about you on the Internet prior to interviewing you. Research shows that more than 90% of all hiring managers will “Google” the names of potential hires before they decide to interview them. One of the top search results that come back for most people is their LinkedIn profile. Plus you can join our network of more than 16,000 hygienists and start making connections.
VistaPrint: Postcards are a fantastic way to make a splash in your job hunt! And there’s no better online printing resource we’ve found than VistaPrint.com. They deliver great quality and often get them done before they say they will. Our postcard templates and services are specifically designed for VistaPrint.com
